The Dominion Post used my photo yesterday in an article about physical adventures/challenges as fundraising ventures. They also described me as “an Englishman” and how I was walking from Bluff northwards – all 100% incorrect.
I’m not raising funds for a charity or social cause. I only have a ‘donate’ button on my blog because 4-5 months with no income is going to be (and already proving) a challenge.
My car is still for sale. The monthly payments on that since I’ve been walking have taken a big chunk of my funds.
I’m grateful to the Xtreme Subcamp at Jamboree who held a raffle for me. Liam even lost his locks as a result!
And whilst some folk are happy to dig into their wallet and make a donation to help, I’m not looking for handouts. That’s why I’ve proposed to write a book of this adventure once I’ve finished. A limited edition first-run, numbered and signed, will be produced. You can pre-order yours for just $50. An enormous THANKS to everyone who has ordered so far: I promise the end result will not be a boring read.
And to the sponsors and supporters who have donated products or given discounts – your gear is awesome, the food is tasty and I really appreciate your belief in my adventure.
Who do you know who would love to get a unique book next Christmas? $50 takes a present off your gift-list 11 months early! 🙂
Hey Stuart,
Its great to hear about your travels. I am trying to save some money each week for a book so i can read more and to help you eat along the way 🙂
Take care
Amy-lee
