Friendly people everywhere!

As much as this adventure has been about seeing the fabulous countryside, the people I’m meeting along the way are certainly helping make it a memorable journey. Here is a selection of the friendly folk I’ve had the pleasure of spending some time with…

Maria and Zac - two of my dearest friends in Hamilton. Well, one dear friend and one who sheds lots of fur - you work out which is which.

My energetic Pirongia hosts: Niamh, Joseph and Susan.

Sharnae, Michelle and Ken enjoy their rural Otorohanga lifestyle. And Ken makes a mean mutton roast!

Ollie and Caitlin manage to round up the kids just before school. Their Te Kuiti farm has lots of room for playing 'spotlight'.

Haley and Sam - working the farm (so remote there's no cellphone coverage) and raising 5 kids under 6 years old!

I shared the Waihaha Hut with Cam, Margo, Ken and Gabby.

Josh, Sam and John play host as I visit Mt Ruapehu for the very first time.

Visiting from the Czech Republic, Barbora (a Girl-Scout Leader) and Mirka chatted with me as I ate my lunch - they had walked some of Te Araroa in the Far North!

Graeme and Barry are members of the Wanganui Tramping Club, helping DoC eradicate some pockets of heather.
